The story began in the heart of Nairobi, inside vibrant classrooms filled with an unmistakable spirit of resilience. Through his role as the Executive Director of the Center for Freedom and Justice (CFJ) Colorado, and building upon his professional background as a Chamber of Commerce Director in the United States, Joe Drexl has dedicated himself to strengthening the local educational system with professional guidance and vital resources. During his visits, Joe stepped into the classrooms to deliver inspiring lessons, sharing deeply blessed moments with eager 6th and 8th-grade learners. There, he encountered beautiful, sharp minds with an unyielding thirst for knowledge—a drive that defied every obstacle in its path.
Yet, alongside that inspiration, Joe witnessed a persistent challenge: while the desire to learn was boundless, the basic tools to do so were devastatingly scarce. In these communities, a single notebook and a pencil are not just ordinary stationery—they are a child's passport to a better future. This reality is especially stark as parts of East Africa, particularly Kenya and Tanzania, continue to face heavy socioeconomic strain.

What began as a professional support mission and a heartfelt exchange in the classroom quickly evolved into a lifelong, cross-border commitment. Today, driven by the enduring generosity of our community, family, and friends, CFJ Colorado maintains a dedicated, continuous supply of vital stationery and educational materials to ensure these schools are professionally equipped.
"Providing consistent access to stationery and empowering schools professionally is more than charity; it is an investment in their intellect and an act of pure resilience." — Joe Drexl
